We spent a month in Australia with English Premier League broadcasters Optus Sport to make films that explore fan culture deep Down Under.
OPTUS are the broadcasters of the Premier League over in Australia, and when we were invited to tell the story of Oz-based Premier League fans, we couldn’t book our plane quick enough.
Across a twenty-six day shoot in the immediate aftermath of the World Cup, we met a fan of each club in the Premier League and told their story via a 5,000 run of printed OOH adverts across Australia, a national television commercial, six three-minute films, one seven-minute film, and an article in the magazine. The campaign’s hero Mary, an elderly and completely in-love Arsenal fan, has over 100k views on her three-minute film alone.
