PUMA have released an updated version of their classic ROMA 68 trainer, and it's great, obviously.

The original ROMA 68 was released to celebrate the Italian national team’s success in the 1968 European Championships, where they overcame Yugoslavia 2–0 in a replayed final.

Known for their minimal design and sleek colourways, and originally designed for athletes due to their comfort and versatility, they became synonymous with running of a different kind, being hugely sought out by football fans in the ‘80s and turned into a terrace staple.

The revamped version takes on the original ROMA silhouette and comes hard with the classic Formstrip branding in blue on the side, alongside the gold branding on the premium leather upper. The sneaker is topped off with a gum sole and reinforced heel for as much comfort as possible. If you do have to run, you won’t get a blister.

The ROMA 68 OG is available from PUMA stores and PUMA.com from April 20.
