Liverpool is a city synonymous with football and is widely recognised as one of the first places to embrace casual culture. adidas Originals are looking to pay tribute to that with the new Merseyside Trimm-Trab pack.
Ever since sports shop owner Robert Wade Smith first brought the Trimm-Trab back to Liverpool in the ‘80s, it’s been worn on the terraces at Anfield and Goodison Park. The Merseyside Pack salutes those original wearers with two new trainers in Liverpool Red and Everton Blue.
As part of the launch of the new pack in Liverpool on 13 April, SEVENSTORE have joined up with adidas Originals for a one-off event celebrating the social impact of grassroots football in Liverpool, as well as an archive exhibition curated by Laces Out! and Transalpino.
As part of the event, there will be a Q&A panel discussing the unique role that football has played in shaping the city, as well as how adidas have developed their trainer collections alongside its evolving culture. The panel includes Paul Manning, the chairman of City of Liverpool FC, Simon Hughes of The Independent, Stephanie Power from Radio 4, and Gary Aspden from adidas Originals.
The event will take place at Smithdown Social in Liverpool on 12 April. To attend, sign up here.
