“You’ve got to take note of where you began,” Rubi Deschamps told us while shooting for the new Converse and Liverpool partnership. “And this is where I began.”
A model, mental health advocate, and content creator, Rubi has directed a series of short films shot by Woody Rankin and Elliot Holbrow that give a glimpse into how she expresses herself creatively as a football fan and celebrates her city.
From the Bluebell Dance Studios, where Rubi started dancing as a kid, to the muddy pitches at Mossley Hill a mile down the road in south Liverpool and the iconic multi-platformed space The Merchant, where some of the city’s finest creatives meet, Rubi’s films are a love letter to the city she has grown up in.
“As a club, Liverpool do very well with making fans feel involved,” Rubi continued. “Everything is ‘we’; it’s not just ‘the team’ and ‘us’.”
The partnership between Converse and the club has seen five creatives given the opportunity to express themselves creatively, and alongside an exceptional capsule collection of clothing, it’s a partnership that we’re hoping to see more from in the future.
