Assists are important unless you’re Cristhian Stuani, and Jadon Sancho has made the most assists in Europe’s top 5 leagues this season, which puts him one ahead of Leo Messi.

You can prove anything with stats, but this is all despite playing fewer minutes than all of the rest of the top ten assist makers. We might have something special on our hands here.

Despite Chelsea not performing this season, Eden Hazard confirms how good he is on his own as the top goal creator in the Premier League with 11 assists, while Ryan Fraser’s magic season gets him into the top list with 10 assists, equalling Spurs’ Christian Eriksen.

Two defenders make the list, Bayern Munich’s shouty man Joshua Kimmich currently sits on 10 assists as well, while Andy Robertson’s perfect cross onto Roberto Firmino’s head on Sunday sneaks him into the top 10 alongside him.

Dortmund captain Marco Reus has been full of praise for Sancho since the start of the season, and the teenager from Kennington has lit up the Bundesliga.

“When our opponents ease off a little, and Jadon comes into the game, then he's a weapon for us every single time,” said Reus.

“We're happy to have him up our sleeve, and he always gives us a boost.”
