We all have our own adidas Predator memories. Whether it’s through Beckham, Zidane, Gerrard, Kaká, or the bloke from The Dog & Duck who played you off the park, you remember the first time you saw that iconic colourway, that tongue, that intimidating, serrated leather.
Now, despite our best efforts, you don’t need to simply reminisce and live in the past. The clever lads at adidas Football have brought back the most iconic football boot of the last 30 years, and they’ve brought it right up to date. The Predator is back, and it’s extremely 2017.
Featuring a sleek black upper, gold heel detailing and a sock that expands to reveal that iconic Predator red, the adidas Predator is “a boot for those players who control the game through a killer touch or defence-splitting pass”, according to the brand’s VP of Design, Sam Handy, and will be seen on players such as Paul Pogba and Dele Alli in the coming months.
We made a short film with our mates at COPA90 to celebrate the relaunch of a design icon; you can view it on our Instagram story. If that’s not enough Predator for you, pick up Issue 11 of our quarterly print magazine to read about David Beckham’s love affair with the boot.
